Technology

We want to make your smile the best it can be! We specialize in quality dental care for adults and children. We offer a variety of services and office hours for your convenience. Our office is fully equipped with the latest technological advances. Each treatment area is equipped with a computer to collect color video images both inside and outside the mouth. Our digital x-ray system captures the x-ray image with up to 90% less exposure than conventional x-rays. Our office also utilizes the DIAGNOdent, a laser device to detect small cavities so that they can be removed with Micro Air Abrasion, a procedure that will remove decay, often times without numbing. This technology facilitates the placement of tooth-colored (invisible) fillings.

CEREC

CEREC is a computerized system that allows us to manufacture tooth restorations, like crowns (caps) and veneers chairside using ceramic. Chairside means that we can provide the treatment (crown, veneer, etc) in one patient visit and ceramic refers to the final product - a non-metallic restoration which is bonded to the existing or remaining tooth structure. As such, CEREC restorations are extremely durable and natural looking. Many studies have shown CEREC restorations to last as long as Gold restorations (long the industry standard for quality and longevity). The benefit to patients is treatment in one appointment and a tooth-colored restoration which matches the look and feel of their natural teeth. The benefit to dentists is a high tech solution to many of today's clinical challenges - particularly that of matching increasing patient demands for "tooth colored" with high quality, long lasting restorations, while preserving as much of the existing tooth as possible.

DIAGNOdent

We use Laser technology so sensitive that we can find cavities that were previously invisible. It is called DIAGNOdent. The DIAGNOdent is a new high tech laser diagnostic system. It utilizes laser light to detect cavities that were previously invisible and not detectable by conventional diagnostic methods. Studies show that 50% of cavities go undetected by present diagnostic methods. Using DIAGNOdent technology allows us to catch areas of decay sooner and with more precision. By catching decay early means fillings are more conservative, preserving more of the tooth. This allows us to use minimally invasive filling procedures, such as drill-free air abrasion below.

Digital Radiography

We use Schick digital radiography that eliminates film.

Digital radiography exposes you to up to 90 percent less radiation than traditional film X-Rays do. The large images, combined with tools that enable me to highlight potential problem areas on the screen so you can see them can help you understand what I am seeing.

We have been using this technology since 1996.  Because of the lower exposure, during the past 15 years our patients have received only 1.5 years of x-ray exposure when compared to the 15 years worth of exposure that patients in other offices were exposed by using the older technology.

Digital Communications

We have been sending email reminders for years. Now we are also communicating by text with timely reminders for your appointments.  It makes the communication convenient and precise.

Other

We utilize the AirDent II air abrasion system.
